The Lyric activities are run by a Community Interest Company, Friends of The Lyric Theatre, who are the tenants of the building. The aims of the C.I.C. are to support the local community to engage and participate in high-quality arts activity and to provide a space for creatives who work in the arts to create and present their work.

The Lyric is quite unique in being a vibrant, rare and essential hub for creatives, managed by working artists/creatives and supported by a team of local volunteers. It is a special place that has an ethos of contribution and connection and has nurtured many people of all ages so far in its ten year existence.

The Lyric does not receive any regular funding and has existed on a shoestring, with people donating time and money to keep it going. We pride ourselves on our spirit of doing a lot with a little, proved during the pandemic where we made four wonderful outreach projects possible.
